One or more members of a family who are citizens or residents, or a legally recognized business entity, within the boundaries of the AFHA, may become a Family or Business member of the AFHA, provided at least one registered Friesian horse is owned by the family or business entity. For the purpose of this category, the term “family” is defined as a husband and/or wife and all children under the age of eighteen (18) years. A family or business in good standing is entitled to one vote in the AFHA proceedings and one member of the group who is at least eighteen (18) years old is eligible for election to the Board.
Annual membership fee: $ 100.00.
Any person who is an owner of at least one registered Friesian horse and who is a citizen or resident within the boundaries of the AFHA may become an Individual member of the AFHA. An Individual member in good standing is entitled to vote in the AFHA proceedings and is eligible for election to the Board, if the member is at least eighteen (18) years old.
Annual membership fee: $ 75.00.
Any person who is not a citizen or resident of the United States of America or Canada or who is a citizen or resident of the United States of America or Canada but does not own a registered Friesian horse may become an Associate Member of the AFHA. An Associate member is not entitled to vote in the AFHA proceedings and is not eligible for election to the Board.
Annual membership fee: $ 35.00.
Any person who has made a significant personal contribution to the AFHA may be nominated by an AFHA member, in good standing, and seconded by another AFHA member, in good standing, to become an Honorary member of the AFHA. An Honorary member is not eligible for election to the Board.
